ROPE AND PULLEY RECORDS signs MC Perec

Brooklyn, NY
May 13, 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROPE AND PULLEY RECORDS signs MC Perec.

For fans of adventurous music smarting from the rumored breakup of electro-acoustic outfit Webern and the Gynoids, and those lamenting the "retirement" of sound collage artist sSStTTuUUTttz, succor is on the way.

Brooklyn-based ROPE AND PULLEY RECORDS proudly announces the latest addition to its sound-addled roster: MC Perec, enigmatic producer-composer-scientist.

Recording under arbitrarily determined constraints involving the sounds used in individual tracks, MC Perec straddles the line between abstract sound art and dance floor beats. The notorious eccentric rarely releases his work to more than a handful of friends and colleagues, making his sizable oeuvre nearly impossible to track down.

Finally, after months of indirect negotiations and CIA-style "cold drops," ROPE AND PULLEY has succeeded in obtaining the right to distribute the four tracks available for listening now at myspace.com/mcperec.

1. Open Up With The 88s
2. Quiz The Skin
3. sssssssssssssssssss
4. Cryogenic Weekend

Said ROPE AND PULLEY founder and president D Stuart Mullins, "Those who know me know it's rare for me to throw around words like 'genius' lightly. But here it is: MC Perec is redefining music, track by track, much the same way Albert Einstein redefined physics."
